Born on May 9, 1961 in Wheeling, West Virginia, Corbett moved to Los Angeles after
graduation and spent six years working in a steel factory until an injury
changed his life. He enrolled in a local junior college and discovered the drama
department. His career began with a series of high profile television
commercials but then he won a guest-starring role in ABC's "The Wonder Years."
In 1990, John was asked to read for the part of Chris Stevens, the colorful disc
jockey, in "Northern Exposure". John, who was just one of many in the cast,
became a "break-out star". He has appeared in such films as "Flight of the
Intruder", "Tombstone", and "Volcano". He has also starred in the television
movies "Innocent Victims", "The Morrison Murders", "Don't Look Back", "On
Hostile Ground", "The Sky's On Fire", and "Prancer Returns". His television series include Northern Exposure, The Visitor, "Love Chronicles", "Sex and the City", and "Lucky". Some of his movies are "Dinner Rush", "Serendipity", "My Big Fat Greek Wedding", "Raise Your Voice", "Bigger Than the Sky", "Elvis Has Left the Building", and "Raising Helen".
